Nominator's project description
| Professor Zvi Ben-Avraham has made outstanding contributions to the understanding of the structure and evolution of the Dead Sea - Jordan Rift Valley. His work is based on the interdisciplinary study of relations between continental rifting, human migration, and natural hazards. He has published over 160 articles in international journals and authored and edited 8 scientific books and special issues. He is the Chair of Geodynamics at Tel Aviv University. Since 1989 he also holds a Chair at the University of Cape Town. He is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Heidelberg Academy. |
